Teaching & Berlin break

This is a little piece I did based on an embroidered square from Afghanistan - an event organised by Pascale Goldenberg to help the women there buy equipment.
Had a good time in Berlin but it was freezing! Saw quite a bit of the Jewish & war histories which I found deeply moving but also couldn't take too much more of it. Visited museums, galleries and heard a concert - but not with the Berlin Philharmonic unfortunately.
I had a good day with the Drome Journées d'Amitiés and everyone enjoyed the 3 h course. But the technical side of trying to give a slide show using the computer remains, as it has each time, a nightmare. Tried 4 computers and all morning (someone else not me) to get the thing compatible with the projecteur. What is the answer?
Am working on my entry for St Marie aux Mines competition so will show it when it's possible to do so.
I have been invited to teach again in Australia next year so I'm very happy about that.

L'image est un petit morceau basé sur un carré Afghan - l'évenement organisé par Pascale Goldenberg à l'aide des femmes Afghanistan il y a quelque temps.
On a passé un bon séjour à Berlin mais il faisait trés froid. On a vu beacoup de choses sur la guerre et les Juifs, trés emouvant mais dur. Visites aux musés et aux galleries et on a entendu un concert - pas le Berlin Philharmonic. J'ai passé une belle journée avec la Drome Journée de l'Amitiés et tout le monde a aimé bien le cours de 3h. Beaucoup de problèmes techniques pour la conférence/projection d'images utilisant l'ordi + projecteur. C'est toujours comme ça il me semble. Mon oeuvre pour le concours SMAM avance et sera bientôt terminé. On va voir si elle est acceptée.
Je suis invitée d'enseigner encore une fois en Australie l'année prochaine alors je suis bien contente.

les yeux

Je viens d'avoir deux interventions cataracte et ma vision n'est pas encore stabilisée alors aucune broderie pour l'instant. Mais il faut commencer bientôt car j'ai beaucoup vendu depuis septembre et il me faut remplir le 'stock'. J'ai quelques salons prevus pour l'été et c'est une bonne raison de se mettre au travail.
Mes trois tableaux de paysage à Canberra se vendus la semaine dernière et je suis contente qu'ils restent ensemble.

On va à Berlin demain pour 6 jours et tout le monde dit que c'est une belle ville à visiter.

Just had two cataract operations and my view is a little disturbed for the moment so no question of being able to embroider. But I must begin soon as I have sold a lot since September and have salons and expos coming up in Summer.
My Canberra series of three sold last week and I'm very glad they are staying together

Off to Berlin tomorrow for 6 days staying with Peter's son who is working on a film there. A goodly amount of culture coming up.

expo à Nîmes

Bonjour, il y a un moment depuis que je n'ai pas écrit. Il est un pèriode calme pendant lequel je travail dans mon atelier. Je suis en train de créer un oeuvre pour le concours de SMAM 'Nature'.
Prochainement quelqu'une vient en stage et je vai animer une Journée d'Amité dans le Drôme. Je voudrai organiser un cours de 1 ou 2 jours chez moi et il me faut trouver une date convenante pour tout le monde. Je vous tien au courant.

Hello, everything's been very quiet and I've been working at an embroidery for the SMAM competition 'Nature' Next couple of things on my agenda is a week's course here beginning of March and then a regional day in the Drôme.
I'd like to organise a 1 or 2 day course here and have to find a suitable date. I'll keep you posted.

Expo Vénéjan & other

Had a very good opening with a good turnout. One piece sold and a couple more to be discussed later.
Am about to start on a commissioned piece from someone who fell in love with my Pfaff work. But as that show is now travelling to other venues I decided to embroider something similar for immediate purchase.

I've put my latest work up at Vénéjan but might well do some more work on it later. We'll see.

Le vernissage à Vénéjan s'est bien passé avec du monde. Un morceau etait vendu avec des promesses d'autres.
Je suis en train de faire un oevre basé sur cela exposé avec Pfaff. Quelqu'une voudrai l'acheter mais il n'est pas disponible pour un an au moins car l'expo voyage.

Nouvelle Exposition

Voilà la nouvelle affiche pour l'expo à Vénéjan. Je veux bien vous voir pendant le weekend si vous ne venez pas pour le vernissage. Je vien de finir une nouvelle broderie que me plaît bien alors elle sera exposée pour la première fois à Vénéjan.
