Hello again!  Blog's been quiet but I've been busy nevertheless, Nantes Quiltmania salon first in April.  Liked Nantes very much but it is a very long way to go from here and most of any earnings went on travel, hotel and food.  Then May in Briançon which I enjoyed a lot and I got to keep earnings as everything was provided for artists.  My exhibition was in the Protestant Temple which was very suitable for my work as it was small but light and airy.
I ran 2 one day courses here recently and everyone enjoyed themselves and produced some nice work mostly from my kits but also one creation.
I'm working at the moment on a a piece based on a beautiful wildflower field in the next village - friends say it was seeded by the local 'chasseurs' which is a nice thought.
Voilà à nouveau!  Les salons de Nantes et de Briançon  s'est très bien sauf à Nantes j'ai du dépenser pas mal de sous pour le logement, le trajet et les repas que m'a laissé pas beaucoup de bénéfice.  A Briançon j'exposai mes oeuvres dans le Temple Protestant un lieu super pour l'échelle de mon travail.
Les 2 cours que j'ai donné chez moi fin mai se passé trés bien et tout le monde était contente.
La photo est prise à St André de Roquepertuis - un champ de fleurs champêtre semé par les chasseurs il y a 2 ans.  Il m'inspire pour une nouvelle broderie.

Home time

Tomorrow I fly home and my nephew will be flying the plane for the Australia - Hong Kong leg and then we'll have a day there before I fly on to Paris at midnight.  I've had a pretty quiet trip this time but still managed to go from Melbourne - Grampians - Melbourne - Canberra - Taree catching up with family and friends.
I'm hoping to start work on a series based around the country fences that are everywhere here - all shapes and sizes and degrees of repair - so I'll look forward to seeing what interesting angles I can come up with.
Demain je rentre mais avant que je prends le deuxième parti de mon trajet je vais passer la journée à Hong Kong comme la dernière fois avec mon neveu.
Quand je commence mon travail à nouveau, je veux créer une série sur les clôtures rurales trouvés partout ici et je suis impatient d'essayer de les capturer dans tous leurs états

Workshops Aussie

Have now completed my 6 days worth of workshops in the Grampians which were filled to capacity and much very good work by students.  All very rewarding.  For the first time I have no other workshops anywhere so am enjoying seeing friends and family and will make for home 19th March.
Great news is that the sale of half our land has now got a buyer so we're very happy about that.

Les ateliers sont terminés dans le Grampians et encore une fois etaient très apprècies.  Mes élèves ont produit beaucoup de belles oeuvres et je suis très fière d'elles.  Il y a aucun ateliers que j'anime pendant mon séjour mais je profite de voir mes amis et ma famille.  Je rentre le 19 mars.

I had great fun with this work as it's mostly collaged fabrics and threads with some simple stitching for seed heads.  It's quite a while since I used the poppy theme and I found it good to have a change of colours after completeing (maybe) the big series of the St Gèly field which were muted greens, yellows and a few others.  I've begun another smaller poppy work.

J'avais beaucoup de plaisir à la création de ce morceau sur le théme de coquelicots encore une fois. C'était un agréable changement de couleur de la série de St Gèly

Australia rushing nearer!

Getting a bit panicky now as Feb 19 and my departure for warmer climes looms ever nearer.  With salons in Briançon http://www.planeteski.com/station/briancon/134-5570-231-festival-patchwork.html and Nantes in April and May I've been working on new landscapes and I've also needed to prepare for courses in both events with not much time left on my return in March before the first in Nantes http://www.pour-l-amour-du-fil.com/pages/en/home.php?lang=EN.
I'm glad to say that both my workshops for Grampians Texture are nearly at maximum capacity so it'll be hard work but fun as it always is out there.  Several students from my Geelong class are enrolled again so it will be like seeing friends
I've updated the courses page on my website or rather  I've sent new info to Peter and he's had the pleasure of putting it all together and publishing it - not a quick job by the look of it.

Ma visite en Australie est très proche - Feb 19 - et je suis en plein préparation.  Mes deux ateliers sont presque complet et j'ai plusieurs élèves de ma classe de Geelong inscrits.  Vieux amis!
Comme j'ai dit avant j'ai crée beaucoup de nouvelles oeuvres mais comme je participe à deux salons à Nantes http://www.pour-l-amour-du-fil.com/pages/en/home.php?lang=EN. et à Briançon  - http://www.planeteski.com/station/briancon/134-5570-231-festival-patchwork.html  et une exposition dans l'Aveyron- et nous sommes absents pendant l'été - j'ai besoin de travailler autant que je suis capable.
